About AMD Environmental
AMD Environmental are a collaborative Mechanical and Electrical Design and Build Engineering specialist with a sustainable approach in delivering challenging and bespoke projects across several industry sectors. We specialise in ‘Green’ sustainable technologies delivering energy efficient, low carbon solutions across the industry which is further supported by our Energy Lifecycle Modelling expertise. In addition, we complete the full turnkey offering in the Industrial, Critical Resilience, Traditional office fit-out and Retail/public sectors of the construction industry.
AMD has grown from its succession in delivering projects to extending our full service offering by providing a complete Facilities Management service. This includes providing planned preventative maintenance services to maintain our client’s assets and minimise the risk of assets failing and reactive maintenance services in the event of an emergency. Our distinguished approach is ensuring we are both responsible and ethical by employing the most sustainable approach in delivering projects or maintenance and offering our clients our knowledge and guidance to aid them in achieving the same.
Incorporated in 1971 and previously called Air Movement Design, the business was originally setup by Roy King who was the founder and father of Jon King. In July 2011, Jon teamed up with Marcus Sullivan to expand the business, the client portfolio and the overall service offering.
Marcus has taken on the role of joint Managing Director along with Jon King, under the new company name of ‘AMD Environmental,’ enabling us to now provide a diverse range of specialist services to both our existing and new clients. AMD are proud to have retained its core values of hard work and determination as well as a family ethos within the business with a great heritage. This ethos has enabled the business to evolve from a bespoke contractor to an established name within the industry, now celebrating 50 successful years.
AMD has gained an excellent reputation for providing very high standards of workmanship at competitive prices within the mechanical and electrical building services industry. This is emphasised through our long-standing blue chip national frameworks. We pride ourselves of this being a perfect example of our delivery model that we would look to continue and extend to future clients.
Our fantastic reputation means that most of our business is generated through repeat engagement or recommendations through our existing client portfolio which includes a variety of End Users, leading High Street Banking Institutions, Principal Main Contractors together with various Governmental Departments and Public Bodies.
Our People
AMD Environmental employs nearly 50 staff across two locations who are the key to our success. We are proud of the team we have built and the dedication they give to their roles and to our clients. Our people appreciate the culture and success of achievement we have generated and understand the importance of taking ownership of issues and dealing with them.
In assembling the company, great attention has been given to creating one common culture. During each team member’s induction and as an ongoing process, we communicate the company’s core values and beliefs that support the ‘one team’ approach.

AMD Environmental has been awarded ‘Diamond Quality Partner’ status by Mitsubishi Electric (see News). We also hold Partner status with Daikin and Toshiba. These are three of the largest air conditioning equipment suppliers in the UK and partner status demonstrates how these world-renowned companies recognise the quality of our installation work and competence.
These close relationships mean we’re kept informed of the latest equipment and our engineers attend special training programmes. We are kept up to date with all current legislation affecting the selection, installation and operation of their air conditioning equipment.
It also means that AMD Environmental is able to offer additional benefits to clients, such as a 7-year warranty and extended service agreements.
